NEW BRIGHTON COASTAL COMMUNITY TEAM (NBCCT) 

NBCCT exists for stakeholders across New Brighton to proactively work together to achieve the  following vision 

New Brighton builds upon its strengths to become a year round premier destination, attracting  increased day trippers and overnight stays and increasing employment, whilst supporting and  responding to the needs of the local community. 

Aims

• To be a champion for New Brighton
• Enhancing the attractiveness and accessibility of public areas
• To improve access for disabled people in New Brighton in all settings
• Providing increased community facilities.
• Promoting the visitor economy.
• Encouraging sustainable uses of heritage / cultural assets.
• Creating links to support the growth and performance of the resort.
• To be the first point of contact for people or organisations who live, work or visit New Brighton interested or concerned about activity or works that affect New Brighton

In order to achieve its Aims the Group may:

• Open a bank account
• Raise funds
• Receive grants
• Use funds to achieve the Aims of the Group
• Take out insurance
• To encourage and assist Event Organisers
• Work with other groups and exchange information.
• Make representations to Wirral Council and Central Government on behalf of people / organisations who work, live and visit New Brighton.
• Do anything that is lawful which will help it fulfil its aims.

Working Principles

Members agree to work together actively to achieve the Aims through demonstrating and championing:

• Visible commitment and ownership of shared issues;
• Mutual trust and respect, membership available without regard to gender, race, nationality, disability, sexual preference, religion or belief.
• Equal rights, one vote each, irrespective of the size of business, group or organisation that a member may represent
• Openness and transparency, no member to benefit from personal gain.
• Effective communication and accountability
• Shared ownership of New Brighton Coastal Community Team resources
• Combined expertise
• Creative and innovative solutions to problems
• Identification and sharing of best practice, based on mutual learning
• Clear purpose, clarity of expectations and agreed targets for action.

Management

• NBCCT is managed by a group of volunteers
• All volunteers are members of the Committee
• The Committee should have 3 officers, voted in by its membership.
• Officers shall be The Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.
• These Officers will be elected at the Groups AGM, to be held September each year.
• The NBCCT shall meet no less than once a month
• Notes to be taken.
• No membership subscriptions apply

Finance

• Any money obtained by the Group shall be used only for the Group.
• Any bank accounts opened for the Group shall be in the name of the Group.
• Any cheques issued shall be signed by the Treasurer and one other nominated Member

Membership

Members are welcomed from businesses and community groups / organisations with a direct interest and physical presence in New Brighton. NBCCT will seek to ensure where possible that there is a balanced membership to ensure that the collective interest is reflected in its decision making. NBCCT may from time-to-time close membership if increasing the numbers of members will create challenges in arranging physical meetings and facilitating an effective discussion at those meetings.

Changes to the Constitution

Any changes to this Constitution must be agreed by at least two thirds of the those members in attendance at the meeting.

Dissolution

• The Group may be wound up at any time if agreed by two thirds of the membership
• In the event of winding up, any assets remaining after all debts have been paid shall be given to another Group with similar aims
